We are pleased to share some exciting news with berth-holders that will be bringing positive changes to our marina community, and ultimately enhance everyone’s boating experience.

Associated British Ports (ABP) owns the Port of Ipswich, which includes the Wet Dock. Our neighbours at Neptune Marina have leased space at the Wet Dock from ABP, and this lease is now due to expire.

ABP is currently working closely with the owners of Neptune Marina, and in July 2023, ABP will be taking over the operations of Neptune Marina with the view to making significant investment in improving the whole Wet Dock and expanding the marina.

This will bring exciting changes for all our berth holders, including increased capacity, improved facilities, extended services and a stronger marina community.

We are confident these changes will further enhance everyone’s boating experience and continue to support a thriving waterfront for Ipswich.

We are finalising plans in close collaboration with Neptune who, since launching 1982, with just one pontoon have transformed Ipswich Waterfront into what it is today.

Minimising disruptions over the summer

We are carefully considering all aspects of the acquisition to ensure that it brings positive improvements to our marina and that it benefits all berth holders and the wider community. Please rest assured that we’re committed to ensuring a smooth transition and our team is working diligently to minimise any disruptions during this process.

Answering your questions

We understand that berth holders are likely to have questions about their berths, the marina facilities and how these changes will be of benefit. We have scheduled a drop-in session where berth holders can meet with the ABP and Neptune team to discuss any feedback or queries.

The session is scheduled for the afternoon of Tuesday 4 July at Old Customs House. This will be an excellent opportunity for open communication, and we encourage berth holders to attend and participate in shaping the future of our marina.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss any matters, please feel free to reach out to us on [email protected], and we will be happy to assist you.

Keeping you informed throughout

We are committed to keeping berth holders informed of the progress every step of the way, and this includes details about the acquisition, the changes planned, and the drop-in session in the coming week. We appreciate your patience and look forward to providing you with updates as soon as they become available.

Thank you for your continued support and participation in our marina community. We are excited about the positive changes that lie ahead and are grateful to all our berth holders.
