We want to provide you with the latest update on the steps being undertaken to ensure the best possible outcome for our Marina business and the wider future of Ipswich Waterfront.

Over the past few months, ABP has been actively engaging with stakeholders, including residents, businesses and berth holders to hear your views on the original proposals presented in July. Your valuable input and feedback have been instrumental in shaping our ongoing discussions.

ABP is committed to taking into account the views and concerns of the Ipswich Waterfront community, and we recognise the importance of balancing any proposed changes with the preservation of the unique character of the area. You will all also be aware that we are a commercial business and this also needs to be taken into account.

The duration of this work has taken longer than initially anticipated; this is purely down to the large number of projects we face at the minute across our business.

Among the options we have been exploring, include the possibility of a tender berth and potentially also including berthing in the northern corner of the waterfront. We now have now received cost estimates for these works which are quite substantial when considering the overall scope of the original project. We are now evaluating the commercial impact of these costs and will aim to provide feedback as soon as possible.

We do not anticipate submitting planning applications until Q1 2024, providing ample time for further discussion and consideration. Please rest assured that we will be in touch prior to any planning submission.
